Cover letter and launching point examples

Here are the two examples of revision cover letters:

I had a request to post a couple of examples of launching point revisions like the one I shared in class on Friday, as well. I am happy to do so as long as you remember (if you choose to look more closely at these) that, 1. These are not the best imaginable examples; they are merely two of any number of fine illustrations, and 2. If your essay needs one and you choose to craft one, your launching point will undoubtedly look very different than either of these. Every launching point is different, and the best launching point (or thesis or transition) doesn't announce itself as a launching point (or thesis or transition).
